In the heart of Vienna, back in 1923, the brilliant engineer Friedrich Horny began an extraordinary adventure, giving life to the production of very high quality radios that would lead the name "Hornyphon" to be synonymous with excellence. In 1924, Vindobona-Radio Gmbh was founded, and production began under the name "HORNY, Abteilung W". The company grew steadily, pushing the boundaries of innovation with inventions like the Cristavox, a Brown microphone relay that revolutionized audio amplification. Horny's passion resulted in unprecedented success, culminating in 1927 when the Hornyphon brand was officially registered. Despite the challenges of the time, the company grew steadily, embracing innovation with cutting-edge devices and mobile radios. In 1930, they presented the "Six" model with six valves, and even an illuminated "Schattenzeiger", which represented a real revolution. Despite the chaos of World War II, Hornyphon demonstrated extraordinary resilience, continuing to produce both military and civilian devices. The death of the engineer.
