THE HISTORY OF THE OBJECT. In 1926, Philips Radioröhren GmbH was founded in Vienna, launching an era of innovation in Austrian radio, with headquarters first in Strozzigasse and then in Neubaugasse. Philips becomes a pillar of radio technology and culture, publishing the "Philips Radio-Revue" for technology education in 1928. In the 1930s, Philips Austria grows rapidly, acquiring the Zeiss factories and producing radio valves. In 1936, the company launches its first Austrian radio and acquires Hornyphon. During the Second World War, production was oriented towards military equipment, but the post-war period saw Philips reborn. In 1947, he introduced the first Philips tape recorder. In the 1960s and 1970s, Philips was at the forefront of radio and television technology. The Philips-Haus building and the production of radio cassette recorders in the 1970s represent the company's constant innovation. Philips Austria was not only a commercial success, but also an essential contribution to the evolution of technology and Austrian culture.
